Plymouth Marjon University

A hard working, multi-use space was developed to accommodate the needs of the university staff and students. From day-to-day reflective and break out spaces, communal gathering spaces taking advantage of the south facing aspect. At the same time improving the quads interface with the surrounding buildings, to accommodate larger annual events and activities like the end of year ball and graduation ceremonies.

Environmentally conscious materials and design elements were at the core of the clients brief, setting the tone for the future campus development and underlining the university’s commitment to a net-zero carbon ambition. As Plymouth Marjon enters a new era, The Quad stands as a testament to the institution’s vision of harmonising history, community engagement, and sustainability. Our work on the quad catalysed conversations about the wider estate and led to our invitation to tender for the Plymouth Marjon masterplan with Tate & Co Architects.
