No Air

The original idea for this design came out of conversations to design an edible skatepark as part of the Festival of Community in 2013 for London’s Southbank Centre.

An obvious combination of skateboarding and food growing – celebrating the DIY culture that has grown around these two responsive urban activities.

The No Air design celebrates the natural shape of the board, introducing a cut out spade to inspire ideas around urban greening and the benefits of the natural world.

Simple word play inspires users to reflect on their surroundings, perhaps even encouraging them to get digging.

Fifteen percent of all board sales go towards urban tree planting in and around skateparks.
