Beach House

Will Sandy | Design Studio led the project, in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading authorities in ecology, heritage and planning, to ensure a robust and appropriate vision for this historic landscape setting.
As part of our site analysis and design development for Beach House estate, we developed three key design principles:
01. An enhanced walk improving the existing public rights of way across the estate.
02. A sense of arrival will create a new landscape approach and setting for the main house.
03. Estate wide landscape improvements providing a rich mosaic of interconnected spaces, garden rooms and vistas.

Each principle works together to improve the site usability, local visual amenity and benefit the local environment. The proposal will provide Beach House with a landscape setting and sense of arrival that has been missing for some time. The proposal sets out to create a contemporary interpretation of the parkland landscapes of historic country houses and estates. This idea, in line with current environmental policy, sets out to create a landscape consisting of a rich mosaic of habitat types.
